LinkedIn profile, if you have one. To remove this function please
contact us and we will do this for you immediately.
7) How do I use the Moodboard and scrapbook features?
The Moodboard and scrapbook features are there to help you apply the
trends and information you have gathered during your time on the
website. If you find something interesting in a Rummager article or in
the Trendhaus or Trend Club sections, simply click the ‘Add to
scrapbook’ icon. This will then store the article or image in your
scrapbook, which is in the Studio feature of Trend Club.
The Moodboard allows you to then use your scrapbook contents to create
interactive and personalised online moodboards; simply drag and drop
items from your scrapbook onto the moodboard and arrange them how you
like. Moodboards can then be saved, printed or even sent to us for
incorporation into bespoke printed output for use in your projects,
presentations or marketing material.
8) Can I upload content of my own to the website?
The Studio part of the website is yours to make your own. If it helps
your project to upload other articles, images, comments or even news
headlines and statistics, go right ahead. You can even share your
content with other users using the Trend Safari. Simply click on the
‘Share this’ option and you are able to show your trend-friends anything
you think they might be interested in.
Troubleshooting
1) I recently paid for a Trend Website subscription but
still cannot gain access
If you have recently paid
for a subscription and have received a confirmation email from Worldpay
but still cannot access the website, please contact us on 01926 624444
or email us at
info@thetrendwebsite.co.uk
2) I have forgotten my password
On the login page you will
see a ‘Forgotten password’ link. Click this link and you will be asked
to enter your email address and submit. We will email a new password to
the email address supplied.
3) I've signed up to one of the trend alerts but am not receiving any
If you use webmail, for
example a Hotmail or Yahoo account, there is a possibility your emails
are being sent to your junk mail folder. The reason for this is that
our emails are sent to multiple addresses and the webmail server may be
assuming that our messages are spam.
To fix this in Hotmail; go to
www.hotmail.com, click on Frequently Asked Questions. Choose the
link saying: 'How can MSN Hotmail help me to fight spammers?' - this
will show you how to set your own 'Junk Mail Deletion Options' to allow
Trend Website emails to reach you.
To fix this in Yahoo; go to
help.yahoo.com/help/mail/ and click on the 'Bulk Mail Folder'. Then,
follow the instructions to set up a ‘filter’ to ensure Trend Website
emails are not sent to the Bulk Mail Folder.
Alternatively, you may work for a company that filters or censors your
email. If you suspect that this happening, discuss this with your IT
administrator, especially if you are using the Trend Website alerts
bulletins for business-related activities. Ask the administrator not to
quarantine or delete them.
If you have access to your spam filter at work, then you may want to
check that you haven't asked the filter to delete our emails.
For any query not covered by the above, email us at
info@thetrendwebsite.co.uk
and ask us to check that you really are on the list to receive that
bulletin.
I have tried all of the above and I still can’t get my subscription to
work
Email
info@thetrendwebsite.co.uk and we will try and help you, although
this may be in the form of telling you that you are a lost cause and not
to darken our door ever again.
4) How to use trends
Why do I need to worry
about trends?
By tracking trends across such a wide range of categories,
you can gain insight into what your customers will be feeling and
wanting, quite possibly some time they know it themselves. This can
then help you to come up with new products and services before your
competitors, in order to differentiate your proposition and give you a
head start.
How do I apply trends?
The Trend Website covers the entry
level application of trends, i.e. you don’t need to be a rocket
scientist to work out how to use them in your business. The trend
content and stories in the Rummager all attest to organisations that
have tracked and applied trends before you and the wide variety of
opportunities that these create.
In applying trends, you may find the
following three-step process useful;
- Identify which trend(s) is
relevant to and has the capability to influence, shape or affect your
business, your customers or both.
- If yes, does it have the
potential to inspire you to come up with a new product or service or to
adapt existing ones? Can you communicate to your customers that you are
now on trend and you know what will excite them and what they want, what
they really, really want?
